Management and Information System (MIS)

About The Management and Information System (MIS)

Introduction

M.I.S. is the digital hub of Federal College of Education, Okene.  It offers value in the following areas of service;

(i) Institutional visibility of the College in Cyber Space;

(ii) Digital accountability of students, candidates, and their associated finances;

(iii) Database for information such as records, and exam result storage and tracking;

(iv) Platform for integrating the different units of the College;

(v) Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) compliance training for the students, academic, and non-academic staff of the College

The College keyed into ICT in Feb. 2006, with the establishment of the Cyber Café with a total of 20 workstations.  By June 2007, it devolved into three sections namely:

(i) management Information Centre,

(ii) Cyber Café and

(iii) College Web Portal.

The Unit as a whole was upgraded to a Directorate in Jan. 17th, 2017.

Vision and Mission

The strategic plan of the directorate is designed to evolve with the Vision and Mission of the College for any plan period.  Essentially the plan provides direction, guidance, and time-lines for the Directorate on how best to serve the College community.  The MIS vision is purposed to transform FCE, Okene into a cyber-friendly academic institution.  It is thus emplaced and empowered to improve service delivery and enrich communality through continuous transformation of the work environment into a digitally enhanced interface.  Furthermore, M.I.S. is set to lead the charge as the College transforms from a person to person teaching-learning strategy to the convenience of a virtual classroom.

Staff

While M.I.S. does not have any regular students of its own, it however provides the nexus through which their administrative and fiscal requirements are met. And this is done by and through our full complement of dedicated warm hearted staff that are excited about their work and ready to please at all times.
