Council Appoints Dr. Habiba Suleiman As The New Deputy Provost Of The College

The Governing Council of Federal College of Education, Okene, has at its 61st sitting approved the appointment of Dr. Habiba Suleiman as the new Deputy Provost of the College with effect from 15th October, 2019

Until her appointment, Dr. Habiba Suleiman was the Director, Centre for Literacy and Continuing Education and a Chief Lecturer in the College. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Educational Administration and Planning from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 2012.

Born on 4th June, 1961, Dr. Habiba had her early Education at Army Children School, Jos 1970 – 1975 and Osi Central Secondary School, Osi in Kwara State. 1975 – 1980. Between 1986 – 1989, she was at College of Education, Sokoto, where she obtained the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) in 1989. Subsequently, she bagged her Bachelor of Arts Education in English from Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto and Masters’ in Educational Administration and Planning from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1992 and 2004 respectively.

As a seasoned educationist and Administrator, who is desirous of excellence, Dr. Habiba was at University of Ado Ekiti, between 2001 – 2004, for her Masters’ in Public Administration, which she also bagged in 2004.

Dr. Habiba is a consummate educational Administrator with vast experiences spanning many years and cutting across various positions of high responsibilities, which include; Head, Department of Educational Foundation since 2012, Chairperson, College Conference Committee 2016, Acting Dean, School of Education July – September, 2016, Vice Chairperson, Board of Trustee Conference Journal of Education (CJE) 2016 and member, Undergraduate Board of studies Committee since 2013, among others.

Dr. Habiba Suleiman’s exploits in academics and research are outstanding, she had to her credit over thirty Journal Articles and several chapter contributions in books. Similarly, she had published good number of books and numerous Conference/Seminar papers of high academic content.

Dr. Habiba belongs to many professional bodies of national and international standings, they include; National Association of Educational Administrators and Planners (NAEAP), Association of Theorists and Practitioners in Educational Administration and Planning in Africa (ATPEAPA), National Association for the advancement of knowledge (NAFAR) and Teacher Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), among others.

Dr. Habiba Suleiman hails from Okene, in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State. She is happily married and blessed with lovely children.
