Religious Activities on the Campus

Section 38(1) of the Nigerian Constitution (1999) guarantees freedom of religion. Students are therefore, free to identify with religious organizations of their choice;

  • Religious meetings shall be restricted to authorized places;
  • Lecture rooms are designed for academic activities. If lecture rooms are to be used for religious meetings, written permission must beobtained from the Dean of Student Affairs;
  • Religious meetings should be conducted in such a way that it will not be a disturbance to others; and
  • No religious group is allowed to tamper with electrical fittings in the classrooms. If any religious group is caught in the act, the group would be banned and will be made to effect repairs.
